Four of us set off nice and early for a trip "across the water" to Tonbridge, Kent - well OK, we only had to drive over the Dartford Bridge !
Leaving at 0830, we had an easy traffic free drive and arrived for bacon butties & coffee by 0900.
Definitely less people around this year and a couple of empty tables indicated fewer traders - although it turns out Peter Pig had broken down en route.
Notable things - a wonderful moored model battlecruiser
WWII game involving a Chinese airfield
Postie's Rejects gorging themselves in the cafe !
In fact, the cafe was the busiest place to be !
The famous Mr Henry Hyde being grappled by Raphael on the stairs
A very nice siege game
Bring & Buy getting the usual attention
An interesting WWII aerial game, featuring the battle for Malta
And curiously, in the Ancients Room - a game of Sharp Practice, this time set in Texas
Texians versus Mexicans
And speaking of Ancients - here's the Battle of Raphia put on by the Society of Ancients
Definitely not the "buzz" at Tonbridge this year - our gang seem to prefer Newark and some will head up to Hammerhead next weekend, I can't as I have a previous engagement more's the pity.
So there we have it - Cavalier done for another year - will we go next time ... we will see.
Well I enjoyed the show Steve. Numbers seemed down again, but it was still a great day out, all the better for seeing you of course!
