Across the Rio Grande

Mike and I played a game of Legends of the Old West, using Michelle's Baddy Posse this time up against my Mexicans.

The Baddies, flush with success after their bank raid, having attracted some more recruits. They have heard there is a treasure trove just across the border in Mexico so a raid over the Rio Grande is called for.

Here they come !

Well armed and confident they trot towards the border town

A taverna by the river is run by a familiar character, El Murrio.

Sentries have been placed at various points around town

but the Mexicans are caught out as the Baddies arrive behind the taverna

The posse splits into two - one bunch head for the bridge, the others for the ford

Sentries open fire

One Baddy is down but the Mexicans are coming off worse in this shoot out

Two are down by the church

and another on the taverna steps

They are across 

and they head off in file guns still blazing

Another two riders are down but two more Mexicans are too

They now change direction, off towards the market and the treasure beyond

Mexican defenders shoot from roof tops and from behind carts but the Baddies keep coming 

Skirting around the stalls, the treasure yard is within their grasp

Still they stay mounted - admittedly a harder target

The Mexican leader in red on the roof top screams at his remaining men to stop the Gringos

but now he and his comrade on the roof top are hit too

The shooting stops as there are no defenders left - the loot will be collected and put on wagons to take back across the border !

All good fun.
