Salute 2018

Essex Warriors put on an AWI game at Salute this year - the Battle of Freeman's Farm

Here's Steve, Graham and Bob setting up

terrain and most of the figures were supplied by Graham

and we're off ! British troops march to attack

skirmishers to the front

an attack is launched against the enemy right flank

their centre is strong and our light troops have failed to take the building in the centre

Americans form up on some high ground

another column of British move up

and attack the enemy on the high ground

a strong brigade of Americans hold position in a field

as others put pressure on the centre

Here's a few of our team

Serious comparing of notes here by Bob and Graham !

All in all, we had an enjoyable day and received many favourable comments from visitors.

As we were so wrapped up in our game and chatting to people, it was difficult to get around and see the rest of the show - although I did sneak off to buy some lovely troops from Gringo40s stall - Maximillian Adventure anyone ?!!

  1. Your game was very impressive. I swung by a couple of times to admire it (and take some pictures of course).
